Come and celebrate the cosmic coincidence of the beginning of both the Jewish and the Knitting New Years. We will be knitting and eating as many sweet things as possible – the obligatory apples and honey, plus pomegranates, figs and almost certainly cake. This project is all about making the new year as sweet and woolly as possible. This year is 5780 in the Jewish Calendar and circa 919 in the knitting calendar (depending on whether you identify with the early Egyptian Sock or Spanish Monastic traditions). And in celebration of Hackney’s uniquely diverse jewish woolly diasporia, we are thrilled to be joined by special sparkley guest star and weaving supremo, Francesca Kletz of the London Loom.
