Blues Party: Indigo Dyeing Dip-in
4 September, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Welcome to the Wild and Woolly Blues Party! Try your hand at Indigo Dyeing with our evening communal indigo vat. Bring an undyed skein of yarn from your stash or pick one up in the shop, a piece of fabric, an old babygro or any natural fibre you think could do with a blue wash, and discover the alchemy of indigo dyeing by taking a dip in the vat. Indigo fundi, Liz Baltesz will be on hand to explain the science and guide your dipping.
This drop-in is charged at £5 per 100g of fibre.
Please make sure your yarn is scoured and oil free.
About the teacher
Liz Baltesz has been knitting for over 50 years. She loves playing with colour and is fascinated by creating fabric and experimenting with pattern and form. Her colourwork journey began by learning to knit fairisle as a teenager. In the 1980s she discovered the bolder more experimental designs of Kaffe Fasset and her work began to draw on the relationship between textile design and patterns found in ceramics, tapestry and the built enviroment.
