To celebrate the publication of Mouche and Friends, Cinthia Vallet’s first book collection of knitted animals, we are thrilled to announce that she will be making the journey from France to Clapton to give a special seamless toy-making masterclass.

The class will be based on a little bunny pattern she has specially designed for knitters who’d like to get started on their first seamless toy project.

As Cinthia guides you step by step through her construction method, your bunny will grow on your needles in one piece. You will discover the methods used throughout all her meticulous animal designs – and what a pleasure it is to make them. At the end of the workshop, you will leave with a character you have started, a little head already full of life and personality, and all the skills you’ll need to knit it to the tips of its feet.

During the class you will learn:

• What wool and tools to use
• The appropriate cast-on techniques
• The various short-row shaping methods used in the animal patterns
• How to create the face features
• How to approach stuffing your animals.

Materials

The ticket price includes the pattern, all the yarn, embroidery silk, safety eyes and stuffing  you need to complete your little bunny. You will also need a set of 2.5mm circular needles or DPNs suitable for your preferred method for knitting small circumferences in the round. We will have practice needles available for anyone who needs them.

Required skills for this class:

You must be an intermediate level knitter who is confident with casting on, knitting, purling, increases, decreases and able to knit extra small circumferences in the round on magic loop, DPNs or Crasy Trios (you will be working smaller circumferences than can be managed on ‘shortie’ sock needles so these are not appropriate).
