So you can’t get to Edinburgh, huh? Well I’m awfully sorry to hear that, and I feel for you – really I do. Because it probably means that you’re missing out on all the fun a knitter could possibly have this weekend.

Did I say all the fun? Actually I meant almost all the fun.

In one small wool shop in Clapton, a group of indomitable knitters are refusing to let their sadness get the better of them. So if you didn’t get an EYF ticket in time or just missed the train, you are invited to wear your family tartan, bring along your best fairisle, or ignore the Scottish theme altogether.

We’ll be keeping our peckers up with both types of Jamiesons and piles of shortbread. It won’t be the Edinburgh Yarn Festival but, we’ll have lots of tea and it will be a pretty good Plan B!
