Website planning for creatives
13 February, 2017 @ 12:00 am - 4:00 pm£40
Make 2017 the year that you join the dots together and get your website sorted out. Properly.
If you’re a knit designer, tech editor, knitting teacher or hand dyer, and planning your website has left you in a bit of a spin, then this workshop is for you.
This 4 hour workshop is all about creating a plan that makes sense for you and the things you’re trying to achieve online.
During the class we will work out :
- who you want to reach (and a bit more about them)
- what you want to reach them with
- how you want them to respond
- what sections and tools your website will need for all of that
- how to make the website practical for you and the skills you do (and don’t!) have
We’ll then begin working on getting a clear brief together so that whoever builds your site, knows exactly what you want.
So in this workshop we will make a plan, but we won’t make a website. You will learn how to analyse your audience and what tools and approaches are good for them, but you won’t learn how to design or code the web pages and tools yourself.
This 4 hour workshop includes an hour for lunch which is part of the process! Please bring a vegetarian something to share with everyone.
About the Teacher
Anna has 15 years experience planning websites for non-profit organisations, training them in how to manage their sites, and working with developers to get things done. Three years ago she decided to change things up and opened a bricks and mortar wool shop. She then created a plan for her shop’s website which went live 18 months ago. It is now responsible for increasing the shop’s turnover by 30%.
Anna believes that understanding your audience and your own priorities, is the key to making a good plan for your website.
