A quirkily sweet sweater for the little folks in your life, Mini Sólja is knitted in DK weight yarn from the bottom up. It incorporates an easy eyelet lace body leading into a stranded colourwork yoke inspired by the vibrant embroidered necklines of Guatemalan and Mexican huipil and the slightly more subdued yokes of 1960s Fair Isle cardigans. Corrugated ribbing at the hem and cuffs give you additional opportunity to play with colours children look so good in. Sólja gets its name from the Faroese national flower, the yellow marsh marigold, which heralds the arrival of spring.
This pattern first appeared in adult sizes only in PomPom Quarterly, Issue 8, in Spring 2014 and is now available as an individual pattern.
