Whilst most of the yarn in the shop is made from wool, there is a huge place in our hearts for Kalinka Linen. This 4 ply fingering weight Swedish yarn is made from 100% linen in an inviting array of colours from vibrant jewel shades to soft pastels which all have a very attractive glow due to the slightly reflective surface of the linen.
Whilst linen has no fibre memory so may not be as easy on the fingers as wool, its lightness and suppleness make it a comfortable summer knit for shawls, lightweight cardigans and summer t shirts and vest tops. One of the best things about this yarn is that, unlike most wools, the more you wash it, the softer and more attractive it becomes. A cool linen t-shirt top can easily become a summer staple in any wardrobe due to its ease of care and wearability.
