Mondim is a non-super wash, round, three ply sock weight yarn made from fine Portuguese wool in a range of attractive solid colours and prints . Whilst it is never going to be as resilient as yarns with a nylon content the fleeces have been specially chosen and the high twist of the spinning all contribute to making this yarn as strong as possible whilst doing as little harm to the environment as possible. It is named after a Portuguese village once famous for its sock knitting cottage industry.
