Baa Ram Ewe Titus is a very attractive and versatile 4ply yarn made and dyed in Yorkshire from 70 % British Wool and 30 % Alpaca. It is a softly worsted spun 3 ply yarn with a distinctive halo.

We love this yarn for lace and cabled hats and shawls as well as garments such as cardigans. Because of its halo it can also be used for garments that might specify a sport or even a DK weight yarn. There may be some pilling, especially if it is knit at a looser weight but this can easily be dealt with by using a Gleaner of similar tool but it is worth it for the whisper soft fabric that it creates.

The halo and the fact that it is not superwash, however is the reason that it wouldn’t be our first choice for baby garments.
