Description

Spun from certified non-mulesed flocks, this on-the-nose 4ply is at its best knit at a snug 25-28 stitch gauge. Unlike most machine-spun yarns, the Kinross has not been machine scoured. This means that each skein still contains the original naturally occuring lanolin and spinning oils. These will gently separate from the wool when you give it a wash and block after knitting, to reveal an extraordinary soft feltiness in the fibre. The result is fabric with an almost cashmere-like bloom.

The yarn is madeĀ  by Todd and Duncan, on the shores of Loch Leven at Kinross in Scotland. Better known for the luxury Scottish cashmere and lambswool they produce for high fashion brands, Kinross 4ply is an outlier and the only yarn they produce for hand knitters.
