Description

Named after the river that was the original home of the Riverknits dyeing studio in Northampton, Nene is their main-stay sweater yarn. Hand dyed on a smooth, plied, worsted-spun Bluefaced Leicester base, wool has a natural lustre which really suits RK's jewel-toned dyeing style.

BFL is the celebrated softy of the British breeds and produces wool that is both strong and next-to-skin soft.  It wears well over time and tends not to pill, so your knitting options are wide open. The excellent stitch definition suits plain stocking stitch just as much as textured knit-purl patterns, thick and squishy brioche, and well-defined cables.

All our shades of Nene are also available in 20g mini-skeins, which are ideal for colourwork projects which require small quantities of many colours.
