Description

Naturally durable, the loft of the fibre from John Arbon's local Exmoor Blueface sheep – a cross breed of the Exmoor Horn (full bodied and hard-wearing) and the Bluefaced Leicester (renowned for its softness and lustre), makes it an ideal choice for socks with the versatility for garments and accessories that need a hard wearing and machine washable yarn. By adding the naturally dark browny-black Devon Zwartbles, the mill has created some additional bounce and a subtle fleck of colour. The Falklands Corriedale brings softness and stitch definition to the mix, with a minimum of nylon included for extra durability.

A celebration of the sheep and landscape of Exmoor, perfect for socks, with the versatility for garments and accessories . The handy 50g skeins size means it's also ideal for colourwork.

The John Arbon spinning mill is situated in the heart of North Devon, surrounded by a landscape with a rich variety of local sheep breeds. As far as possible, the mill uses fibre which is reared and sheared on this land, and machinery which was largely abandoned when traditional mills closed down. The restoration and painstaking maintainance of this old equipment is at the heart of the John Arbon mill team's practice.
