Discover a new way of knitting that turns our normal pattern-following-knitting behaviour on its head by letting specially created hand-dyed yarn lead the way with the stitch instructions. Also known as assigned pooling, this is a technique where the colours you encounter in the yarn, drive special stitches in your fabric. The result is a magical new way of patterning your knitting.
This exciting new workshop is led by Helen Reed AKA The Wool Kitchen, using her unique hand-dyed zip yarns. The zip of colour (a tiny prism like rainbow) that recurrs in each round of the skein becomes the zone of a completely new way to think about hand knitting as Helen shows you how to create special stitches within the zip.
This workshop is suitable for knitters who already know how to cast on, knit and purl and work in the round.
You will using Wool Kitchen hand dyed DK Zip yarn throughout the class. This will be provided and is included in the ticket price of the class. Needles and other tools will also be available to use. If you would prefer to use your own needles, please bring a 4mm, 60cm circular needle.
