Description

This merino yarn is ideal for accessory and garment projects where softness and crisp stitch definition are a priority. Knits beautifully at a worsted tension of 18 sts, but can be worked into a more structured fabric with a DKish gauge of 20-22 sts.

The yarn is made of smooth and soft 4ply worsted weight superwash merino yarn with a lovely round structure – perfect for lace and cables. Malabrigo's signature style of kettle dyeing their yarn by hand, creates inky shades with mixed and semi-solid colours. This knits into fabric with a painterly quality that is even more exciting on textured stitches. We would recommend you stripe your skeins to prevent 'colour pooling' if you are making a larger project such as a sweater.

The yarn has been superwash treated to make it machine washable. As with all superwash yarns we recommend careful drying on a flat surface (don't hang your wet knits!) so as not to stretch the fabric.

Malabrigo is a Uruguayan family business built around hand dyed Uruguayan merino wool. Today their spinning and dyeing operations still work largely with Urugayan wool but it is now dyed and spun in Peru.
