This nifty tool helps you work out the gauge of your odd balls of yarn.  Just wrap the yarn round the centre section, reasonably firmly without pulling too tight.  The number of wraps you fit into the gap tells you the gauge.  Or use the cheaty grooves by lying the yarn along the groove to see which one is the best fit. Comes complete with a handy hole so you can fix it onto your key ring.
