Start (and finish) knitting a summer top before the sun goes in? Yes you can!
Try something different this summer and keep cool with a week of relaxed brunch-time sessions to knit your own lightweight tee. This special 1-week summer crash-course takes place on 4, 5, 6 & 7 August.
This new sleevless riff on our celebrated Sweater Club course is designed for anyone who’s conquered the basics of casting on, purling, knitting and binding off, and feels ready to move on and make a start on a garment.
Over 4 daily 2-hour classes we will work through knitting your choice of top-down top. We’ll go step by step, so that you can make your way to the end of a finished garment with the confidence and knowledge to get going on knitting many more.
Each day we will guide you through the garment construction techniques that your pattern requires. Providing you can continue knitting between the classes, your brand new hand knitted top will be in sight by the end of the 4 sessions.
During the course you will learn how to:
The course fee includes tuition and pattern instruction. Patterns, needles and yarn are available to purchase separately with a 10% participant’s discount.
We also have a Scholarship Programme to fund one place on the course for a low/no income knitter. If you are interested in applying for this place, please see the information on our Scholarship Programme page. The Scholarship place is made possible by our Yarn Forward project, which you can contribute to here.
As this course is based on knitting a top-down garment, students are encouraged to select a pattern from the list below before the course commences.
