Rauwerk Organic Merino Sport is a 2 stranded woollen spun 100% Merino sport weight yarn from Bavaria in Germany. Because of the air pockets in woollen spun yarn, it also works across a range of airy to dense fabric gauges. We feel it works particularly well for patterns that require a DK weight yarn. As it is woollen spun it does not immediately feel as soft as a super wash merino but blooms and softens beautifully when washed and creates a warm, light, coherent fabric that is more likely to keep its shape than super wash treated yarns. Woollen spun yarns like this with their air filled construction tend to yield better yardage than their worsted spun equivalents making them extra economical. The smoothness of merino means that this yarn still gives good clear stitch definition for cables and lace.

This yarn is not superwash treated so we recommend hand washing and drying flat. Did you know that wool repels dirt naturally?
